In 1944, the U.S. Joint Chiefs predicted that WWII would be the greatest rearrangement of the political and geographical order since the fall of the Roman Empire. Looking back over the past 80 years, virtually every major conflict has its roots, or is influenced by, World War II and its aftermath. This talk will give a broad survey of these major conflicts around the world, tracing WWII's long shadow.
